Franco-Albertan producer and one of 3 founding members of the Edmonton-based bilingual production company Far West Productions. Their TV series Salt and Diesel is broadcast on UNIS TV as well as TV5MONDE (2 seasons: 10 x 30 min & 13 x 30 min). Their web series Abigaëlle was funded by Telefilm's Talent for Change program and the TV5 Fund. Season 1 was a great success, winning the Edmonton Film Prize Finalist Award, a selection at numerous festivals and the Alberta Film and TV Awards (AMPIA) Best Web Series Award. The 2nd season, funded by the CMF, will be released on the UNIS TV web platform in February 2020. Corey is also the recipient of the Edmonton International Festival's Best Actor Award for his role in Le Pharmacien, which also won the Audience Award and Best Feature Film at the Las Vegas Festival. These prestigious awards have allowed him to solidify a leading role in the American film Drawing Home. Corey has also hosted the Oilers, Oil Kings, Hockey Canada, FC Edmonton, Eskimos, Grey Cup, World Junior Hockey Championship, FIFA as well as numerous music and concert festivals. Corey is a recipient of an award at the US International Film & Video Festival, as well as a six-time nominee at the Alberta Film & TV Awards as a narrator and TV host. As a producer, he has won two trophies. (Best web series and best TV magazine series).
Alexandre Franchi began his career as a banker in Canada and in the Persia Gulf before throwing it all away to go and tell stories.His films often feature characters that take refuge in their imaginary worlds to escape an unbearable reality. In short, they are autobiographical.HAPPY FACE, Alexandre's second feature was released in late 2018 in Quebec and was voted Quebec's best feature film by the provinces film and theatre students (PCCQ prize). The film is currently doing the festival circuit.THE WILD HUNT, written and directed by Alexandre Franchi was his feature debut and premiered at the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival where it won the award for “Best Canadian First Feature” It also received the Audience Award at the 2010 Slamdance Festival.
MODERATORFirst host of the irreverent daily Volt, Frédéric Choinière then took on a more diplomatic tone at United Nations Radio, at the organization's headquarters in New York, before taking up ecological challenges in Les Verts contre-attaquent (Télé-Québec). At the helm of Couleurs locales, Ma vie Made in Canada and co-host of Vite pas vite, Frédéric also writes many columns, whether in front of the cameras of Par ICI l'été or Indice UV, or on the microphone of programs on the Première chaîne, including Médium large, Les éclaireurs, Culture club and La tête ailleurs. He has been a reporter on the program Ça vaut le coût since 2017.
Maryse Chapdelaine is an independent producer living and working from Caraquet, New Brunswick within ÇA TOURNE PRODUCTIONS. She has been associated with writer and director Renée Blanchar for the past four years. Previously, she was the producer of Studio Acadie at the National Film Board of Canada in Moncton. She worked at the NFB for twenty-eight years before moving into private production. She has received two Gemini nominations for feature-length documentaries and one for best documentary at the Atlantic International Film Festival. It produces documentaries, digital projects, short and feature films.
A Franco-Ontarian by birth, Jocelyn Forgues travels across Canada as a fiction, documentary, variety and youth director for television, the web and the big screen. Trained as an actor at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles, Jocelyn has developed his talents over time through acting, directing, drama, teaching dramatic arts to young and old, and then writing and directing with IPOLC grants to follow the intensive programs of the National Image and Sound Institute (INIS) in Montreal. Jocelyn has been directing ScienceXplosion on TFO since September 2019, and last winter she also presented her first feature film, Noël en boîte, on the big screen.
René Savoie is a producer and president of Productions du milieu, which he founded in 2010 in New Brunswick. Her company has mainly produced documentaries, but this is her third drama series and her first fiction feature film. In addition to being a producer, René is also a scriptwriter. He is currently President of the Alliance des Producteurs Francophones du Canada after having served 6 years on the Board of Directors as an advisor and Vice-President.
Matthew Rankin was born in Winnipeg and educated at McGill and Laval University. He has presented his short films at Sundance, SXSW, Cannes (Critics' Week), Annecy, TIFF and the FNC, among others. The Twentieth Century is his first feature film.
