Spotlight on Bogoshorts festival With a goal to build and consolidate short film culture in Colombia, and help promote Colombian filmmakers, the Bogoshorts movement puts together local, national and international events throughout the year, ending each December with the biggest short film event, the Bogota Short Film Festival (Bogoshorts). This year the festival will be held from December 3 – 10 in Bogotá, Colombia. Last year we had over 40,000 attendees.

Crocodile-men, a mystic river, some kids who like fishing and a war that is coming to an end, share the same Colombian land: Bojaya. In this place, villagers have strange beliefs and celebrate the “Novenario” death ritual. This might be the beginning of a very long story, where spirits and humans meet each other to learn what is there to life after the end of war.

It stages a dialogue of love and indifference on a collage of moving images, apocalyptic and real, appropriated from the Internet. Natural disasters, catastrophes and taking of cities and highways, function as post-human organisms: an immeasurable and fatalistic Matrix, in which only the waiting without conviction and passive contemplation remain. The inevitable end of a relationship and the decline of civilization converge in the same destiny.
