Kasia Karwan

Kasia Karwan holds a MA degree in Film, TV and New Media production from Paris 1 Sorbonne and an MA in Cultural Anthropology from Warsaw University. She worked in renowned film sales agencies, cultural public institutions, with film festivals and production companies on projects development, PR and marketing. Between 2012 - 2015 she developed and headed the feature films department at Premium Films, company initially specialized in short film sales. The Moonshot Company was born in Paris at the beginning of 2016 to promote new talents of independent cinema worldwide. Member of Cannes Short Films Committee, Kasia also consults on acquisitions for polish genre films distributor Velvet Spoon.

Arshad Khan

Arshad Khan is a Montreal filmmaker, festival programmer and film festival director of the MISAFF film festival of Mississauga. Khan's first autobiographical feature documentary film ABU (father) has traveled to over 50 film festivals and won twelve awards to date. The recipient of several grants including most recently the INSPIRIT Foundation grant for filmmakers, Khan is also a film educator and addresses intersectionality in cinema, islamophobia and homophobia. He is currently developing his first fiction feature called YOU'RE TOO MUCH BENAZIR- a genre-bending socio-political comedy set in Montreal.

Marion Jégoux

Marion Jégoux holds a Master's degree in Film Studies and has been working for film distribution and cultural accessibility for the past 10 years. In an associative environment and at several festivals in France and Quebec, she leads itinerant screening projects, as well as activities in prisons and schools. In 2017, she joined the 2 co-founders of the Cinéma Moderne, Alexandre Domingue and Roxanne Sayegh, to open Montreal's new independent theatre. She is Deputy Director of the Cinéma Moderne.

Jean-Christophe J. Lamontagne

Jean-Christophe is passionate about promoting our cinema and founded H264 Distribution in 2015. He distributes among others Jeremy Comte's Fauve and Marianne Farley's Marguerite, both nominated for the Oscars® 2019. Its goal: to support the influence of our cinema through new media. He also co-founded the Festival Plein(s) Écran(s), the very first festival in the world to be held entirely on Facebook. In June 2019, it launched a new offer of aggregation services in an effort to improve the accessibility and distribution of Canadian works on major digital platforms.

Hayet Benkara

Hayet Benkara is a French-born, Toronto based film industry programmer and advisor. She has worked for many years at TIFF and launched the STUDIO training programme for Canadian filmmakers. She has also worked for the world’s most prestigious film festivals such as Cannes, Berlinale, Rotterdam and Locarno.

Damien Detcheberry

MODERATOR
Damien has been working in the film industry since 2005. After working at the Cannes Film Market and the Festival du nouveau cinéma, he directed the distribution activities of EyeSteelFilm from 2012, before becoming distribution director for Métropole Films. He also contributes to various French-language film reviews, including 24 images and Eclipses.
